Welcome to Jeebs grafx & stuff. This is my online portfolio. I am a graphic designer of several disciplines. I have had a hand in illustration, digital illustration/art, video production and editing, print, layout, and my recent favorite-web design utilizing XHTML and C.S.S.. My main skills lie in illustration whether it be with a pen, pencil, or a computer mouse.
If you like what you see as you come to my site and browse my portfolio, I can do the same for you because I am FOR HIRE. The great news for you is that I am a newly graduated student with good knowledge and skills who is willing to do your job for a little cheaper than a more established professional. Not to worry-you will still get good quality work. Contact me.
Below is my online portfolio. Feel free to browse through it and see what kind of work I can do for you. If you are still interested in what I am all about, go ahead and download my resume.

My name is Brandon Fowler. My story goes like this:
I'm a country boy with an illustrative talent. I enjoy using my skills in detail and craftsmanship in many different facets of my life. I enjoy illustration whether it be with a pencil or a computer mouse. I also really enjoy designing and building websites. Aside from all that stuff, I enjoy wood-working and filling our home with homemade furniture pieces (when time allows).
I live in beautiful Coeur d' Alene, Idaho with my wife and two kids. I have a thing for the outdoors and the adventures that are to be had out there. I love to wakeboard, snowboard, rock climb, swim, ride quads/snowmobiles and too many others to list.
Anyway, I have been scribbling and drawing since I was a wee lad. I became skillful with a pencil, then when I learned how to use a computer, I transferred my pencil skills to a digital format. I went to school for graphic design and graduated with my Associates from North Idaho College in the winter of 2009. Ever since then I have been doing random design jobs for my place of employment, and some freelance jobs from brochures and logos, to catalogues and websites.
The site below is a site I built for family. My sister-in-law needed a new, catchy site to separate her and her business from her competition. She was also very concerned about Search Engine Optimization, which was fun to try and make work well. Using keywords and good markup certainly helps achieve all that. All I can say with this site and all the other ones I do is, I like transparent PNG's! They open the door for such fun effects. Visit www.doggy-dog-walker.com to find out.

I am building a web page (home page only) for a friend of mine. He knew exactly what he wanted but needed to somehow put it on the web so he offered this opportunity to me. He gave me a sketch of what he wanted, and I translated it to the screen. He wanted to push a feeling of nostalgia, and "the good ol' days" when you were a kid and life was clean and full of imagination. I am using techniques such as "parallax" and image replacement using C.S.S. rollovers. Check this home page out at www.thirdofeight.com.

This was a project I was chosen to do for a local non-profit organization called Ds Connections. They provide a way for friends and families diagnosed with Down Syndrome to keep connected and build social grounds. They wanted it to look and feel like their already printed brochure. This one uses a bit of floating and clearing for two column layout and also uses and suckerfish navigation. This site can be viewed at www.dsconnections.com

I worked for a spa cover manufacturing company for quite some time. Business started booming and we decided we wanted to hit a bigger market than just our corner of the country so I built this website to be able to reach people across the nation. It has e-commerce capability implemented all by me using a wonderful online party called FoxyCart. The whole e-commerce end can be integrated right into a sight that has already been designed. This project was done in one of my first classes. The objective was to create an illustration for a fantasy themed story book. Not being much of a fantasy buff myself, I needed to do a bit of research on certain styling issues. We had to find an image out of a magazine or other source, then change a minimum of 3 things about that image. I found a lady in a swimsuit in some sort of meditation pose so I turned her into some sort of Elven Princess warrior as seen below. Then, below that is the implementation of that illustration. I took the assignment beyond its own scope and fashioned the drawing it own book and title. The book is illustrated by me purely from scratch from Adobe® Photoshop.

Every year in school, the digital illustration class gets to take part in submitting illustrations to be chosen and used for an Idaho Lottery™ scratch ticket design. There are many details that need to be followed in illustrating these because of the printers that are used in the process. Gradients cannot get too drastic in lightness, and pooled colors need to be separated by at least a 2pt stroke to avoid bleeding together. My design was certainly flirting with the edge of appropriate and acceptable, but it certainly got some laughs from peers and even judges.

I did the project below in my own time for fun. I just started photoshop painting one part of my fourwheeler, finished it and decided to use it for something. I turned it into a magazine ad for a company that I made up that does custom decals.

Sometimes you just start doodling on the computer and before you know it you end up drawing something. Something like an eagle. This is one of my first ever Adobe Illustrator drawings.

A cartoon character I came up with along with his various human emotions.

My very first illustration assignment in school. Go and buy a candy bar and draw it as you see it. I ended up choosing a foil wrappered candy bar, so the challenge I came up against was it was constantly changing colors in different environments. Then the second part of that assignment was to morph, bend, and skew it into a number shape. I pushed the envelope and chose a "3".

This is an illustration I came up with depicting how all the colors in color land are envious that green is getting all the attention in this time of "going green".

The late Spokane Metro Magazine came to our class with an opportunity to do an illustration for an article they were issuing concerning people around the country and even the world requesting relocation packages to the Spokane Washington region. They wanted it depicted in some sort of eye catching graph. I thought that depicting it with the stars of the flag would be nice. The more requests, the higher the respective states star plumes off the flags plane.

Working as a group was the theme of the Slinger's BBQ Sauce project. Between 4 people in a group, we had to come up with a BBQ Sauce name, logo, story, nutrition facts, barcode, and marketing package. We each tackled a different flavor. We had to divvy out responsibilities and assignments. My part in the play was to take care of the rendering of the logo once the group was in accordance with what it would be.

Sting soccer out of North Idaho holds a soccer tournament every spring called the Bill Eisenwinter Hot shot Tournament. Every year they come to North Idaho College and give the students an opportunity to design the new years tournament logo and t-shirt design. I submitted mine and they didn't feel it was right for the tournament but they liked it so much they wanted to use it for another organization-the NWL or Northwest League. I enter one contest, and win a different one-not bad.

Again, from logo to website, Spalidz.com got a business package including a logo. They wanted something "out there." Didn't want serious, and wanted to be set apart from the rest of their market.
